This week we finished the 'Finding Out' stage of our inquiry into how 'Relationships and communities build identity' and started scaffolding some of the knowledge and vocabulary that will come in handy for the 'Sorting Out' stage.
In particular we have been learning about 'Same', 'Different' and 'Opposite', which will help us compare our likes, dislikes and personal traits with the other members of the class.
Our next step is to sort out what we have learned about our heights, weights, birthday months, ages, job aspirations, family members, likes and dislikes, and work a few of the more personally interesting details into our self introductions.
We started putting the final touches on our family trees this week, applying the pictures you sent (thank you again) and putting the ones that don't fit onto a 'I don't know' sheet. We will investigate relationships such as 'cousin', 'aunt', 'uncle' and 'pet' in the 'going further' stage of our inquiry and maybe make new extended and more accurate trees then.

Sharing Time
Starting from Monday, we will have daily sharing times in Preschool A. If you could help your child to select a toy to bring to school when it is their turn, we will practice being good Inquirers by asking and answering questions about it.
The schedule for the next two weeks will be posted on the blog in the side bar, so please check it every Friday; the kids get quite upset when they miss their turn.
With 15 in the class, your child should have their turn on the same day every three weeks.
