YEP Practise

Hello parents of preschool A!

I hope that you are out and enjoying the wonderful weather we are having this weekend!

We had an eventful week in our classroom this week as it was the last full week before our YEP performance.

We travelled with preschool B to the venue to practice our timing and to get used to being on the BIG STAGE! Some of us were a little scared but in the end we all had a great time and really enjoyed seeing back stage and performing for our friends.

YEP

This week we also finished our drums for our combined music performance with preschool B.

We made our drums out of old containers, paper, glue and stretched balloons.

We have also finish creating our 'angry shirts' however they are currently curing so I am unable to post photos yet but I am sure the unveiling will be posted to seesaw early this week.

This is a sample of our combined music performance!

Important information

As you know the YEP will be on Friday of this upcoming week and I wanted to let you know what we need your children to be wearing for their performances.

Class performance
  • A set of leggings, pants or a skirt something that they can easy move in.
  • An undershirt (long or short sleeves, whichever your child will be comfortable in.

Combined music performance
  • Full school uniform

Previously I had advised that as part of our performance your children will be wearing all emotion t-shirts they created and would be removing them on stage as we change through the different songs. Sadly however it has been very difficult to perform this action for the majority of our classmates  without having a wardrobe malfunction. Therefore to save any embarrassment or complications while on stage I will be letting your child choose one of the three emotion shirts they want to wear on stage.

Please note though that at the end of the YEP I will be sending your child home with a bag of all the t-shirts they have made as a wearable reminder of their performance and time in preschool A.

Classroom items

Towards the end of this week we will also be sending home all your child's belongings left if the classroom. To make sure they aren't being send home overloaded I will be trying to stagger the items from Tuesday through Thursday.

Hello parents of preschool A

I hope that you have all had a great week!

In class this week we have been really focused on our YEP performance and have almost completed all of our costumes with the completion of our 'sad' t-shirts and finally we performed our complete performance to our friends in preschool B.

YEP

I wanted to share with you some of the wonderful patterns and shapes that were created by our sad theme tie dye. Our whole class has been delighted with the results and I hope you are too.

There is only one more costume left for us to create which is our 'angry' shirt. We will be creating that in the upcoming week and I'm very excited to see how our class will experiment with the different styles and colours that can be applied!

Maths

This week we have honing our skills at recognising small groupings of numbers and that they can add up to the same number (3+3=6 and 2+4=6). We have been doing this while we count down to eat at meal times and our friends have been having fun taking turns to pick the number we are going to be counting down from.
