TERM 3 HOW WE EXPRESS OURSELVES

This is the last term of the school year, and our unit is How We Express Ourselves.

Art expresses emotion as our central idea. Our lines of inquiry are the following:
Form - Various media use to create art
Causation - How art makes us feel

We started off our unit exploring different kinds of emotions.

Brainstorming

Students share their thoughts and ideas for our short skit for our year-end performance.

Fun painting activity

Painting exercises a child’s brain.

Through painting, children learn how to express their feelings, make decisions and problem-solve. Also, it builds their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Painting helps develop muscle control and is a sensory experience. It helps relieve stress and provides an opportunity to experience cause and effect.

TERM 2 - HOW THE WORLD WORKS

Our next unit for Term 2 is "How the World Works."

In this unit, our central idea is: The cycles of Earth and People Influence each other.
The transdisciplinary theme of our inquiry focuses on the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies.

Our lines of inquiry are the following:
Change, Connection, and Responsibility. In this unit, the students learnt about the natural cycles (day – night, seasons, and weather patterns).
