Welcome back for term 2!

Term two has begun and with it our second unit of inquiry: 'Where we are in place and time'. In the 'tuning in' stage, we are thinking about what directions, countries, cities and buildings we already know about. For example, we know about 'Germany' because that is where Miss Lilly is from (and also Heidi).

Last year's Preschool B class did some good work on this unit. so we had a look at their pictures and collages. Miyu found a picture of her brother on their field trip to Legoland. Maybe we should go there too? The kids certainly enjoy building houses out of all sorts of blocks.

We already have a pretty good understanding of their left and right from our 'make a circle' song and other games, so we will be expanding that to giving directions and describing the route we take to get the park.

The felt sheet has been up on the wall all year, but no-one has really played with it. what kind of stuff can we use it for?

We are off to a good start, finding lots of things we want to find out about in the coming weeks.
